Donald Davidson spoke of an inherited memory, a “folk-chain” binding us to a tradition that tells us who we are, where we are, where we belong, what we live by, what we live for.

My aim is to follow that chain from the vantage of a Southern book collector and digital archivist. What I share is freely given, though each entry takes time, often considerable. Many come with PDFs for those inclined to dig deeper.

If you’re moved to support the work, I won’t argue.
