A few of y’all know I’m a Software Engineer by trade. I’m a tinkerer and I’ve been experimenting with ways to create audiobooks for myself for some time that don’t require a small fortune. I recently found Kokoro, an open-source text-to-speech model. I know many are against AI. I have a love/hate thing with it but find it helpful in my technical tinkering and research.
I’m working on an essay that’s been in the works for a year or so. I hope to complete in the next few weeks. While you wait, here’s an Audiobook version of I’ll Take My Stand (and yes, I’m aware of the irony). Included below is a single-file mp3 and a download link for a zipped folder containing a proper Audiobook. I use Smart AudioBook Player to listen to the audiobooks I create.
